  1. HITCH Program (Holistic Initiatives Towards Community Health)

The HITCH Program was created to meet the community’s needs, emphasizing enhancing individuals’ physical and emotional health using the service and the community. This aims to improve the quality of life in each household by offering extra income to help make up for any financial deficiencies and to empower the community through sustainable initiatives.

Component projects of the program implemented by different schools and departments of the College serve many Barangays of Agdao District, specifically San Antonio, Duterte, and Centro. These are also the Barangays surrounding the San Pedro College Health Center, which serves as a venue for health-related services such as medical consultation, physical therapy, vital signs, and pharmacy. Central to the program is the organizing component of mothers in the community, which aims to provide a more organized group to manage and sustain the program’s gains, especially during the last phase. The San Pedro College Agdao Health Center, School of Psychology, School of Medical Laboratory Science, School of Nursing, and Senior High School department support the program.

  2. TINUBDAN Program – Tingog, Tun-ob, Dan-ag

“TINUBDAN” stands for Tingog (to be the source), Tun-ob (to be a stepping stone), and Dan-ag (to enlighten). It aims to enhance the quality of life among Barangay Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City residents, most of whom are Indigenous Peoples from the Matigsalug tribe. Aside from being very far from the city proper, the area is one of the strategic places to provide allied health services since it is surrounded by many barangays with access roads leading to Brgy. Baganihan. Moreover, its neighboring barangays were noted by the Davao City Health Office with the highest number of malnourished children, and preventable and treatable infections bring about stillbirths in the community.

A unique feature of the program is the construction of the Tinubdan Center, which serves as a venue for meetings and empowerment sessions facilitated by the students and employees of the College. Component projects under the program are delivered by the School of Business Management, Education Arts and Sciences, and the Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Radiologic Technology departments under the School of Allied Health Sciences.

  3. SHEPHERD Program (Sustainable and Holistic Engagement for People’s Health and Empowerment towards Rural Development)

The SHEPHERD program focuses on partnering with barangays to alleviate the health and socio-economic difficulties experienced by the constituents. Data gathered through questionnaires and focused group discussions will serve as the basis for the intervention initiatives. Employees, students, alumni, and external partners shall collaborate in the program’s planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The sustainability phase of the SHEPHERD project shall include the creation and empowerment of a Women’s Organization that will continue the advocacy and activities of the project. The organization shall also be linked with external partners of the College as well as with relevant government agencies.

The program’s component projects are being implemented by the College’s student organizations, the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences, and the School of Nursing. Different interventions to address the community’s needs benefit many parks and elementary schools in Barangay Talandang, Tugbok District, and Davao City. Faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students in various capacities are collaborating to sustain the phases of community organizing until its termination phase in 2026.

  4. PrAISE Program (Proactive Advocacies and Initiatives for Stewardship of the Environment)

PrAISE Program is the College’s response to the call of Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si. The program covers forest and sea areas. One of its goals is to reforest the 1.2 hectares of land provided to the College by the city environment and natural resources (CENRO), inside the Eden Watershed, Eden, Toril, Davao City, in the next 5 years. Students and Employees also plant mangroves in their adopted areas in Brgy. Bucana and Brgy. Matina Aplaya.
