
ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The School of Nursing (SON) is an academic cluster of the college composed of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is offered in the baccalaureate degree. Additionally, the master’s programs include the following: Master of Arts in Hospital Administration, Master of Arts in Nursing, and Master in Nursing degree. In addition, the school also offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing.
Nursing education aims to prepare a student to fulfill a professional nurse’s roles, functions, and responsibilities in society. Learning the art of nursing is based on scientific principles. In accordance with the nature of the nursing course, which is both theory and practice, the students are provided opportunities to learn in the classroom and the same time, gains clinical skills in the care of patients in a variety of settings.
Furthermore, students are exposed to work with individuals, families, population groups, communities, and society with the aim of delivering a holistic approach to healthcare.
B.S. in Nursing at San Pedro College remained locally and globally competitive. The Nursing Department aims to maintain its standard, which has earned itself recognition as one of the Top Performing Schools of Nursing in the Philippines. Also, part of the department’s history was the citation bestowed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 1997 as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education (COENE).
