Setting its sights on future milestones, San Pedro College (SPC) culminated its weeklong platinum year celebration as they honored the day of the institution’s 70th founding anniversary alongside with the feast day commemoration of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus at the SPC Main Campus, Oct. 1.

Attended by student interns, alumni, administrators, faculty, and staff, the morning ceremony began with the annual floral procession in honor of the patron saint, followed by a Holy Mass presided over by Davao Archbishop Romullo Valles.

“We pray to St. Therese that we [can] keep [SPC] students and alumni capable [of nourishing, cultivating, and nurturing] small things that grow [and last] in life,” Valles said during his homily, reminding attendees to value all the small things in life, just as what St. Therese did.

He also emphasized that the life of St. Thérèse left a lasting legacy that the institution should always embody as it continues to foster through the following years.

Following the floral procession and Holy Mass, first-year students across six different programs—Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BSMLS), Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm), Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRadTech), Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSPsych), and Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT)—dominated the gymnasium through their respective field demonstration performances.

Fourteen sections showcased different dance routines, kicking off the center gym with BSN-1I, BSN-1H, BSMLS-1F, BSN-1G, BSMLS-1C, BSN-1E, BSPsych-1A, BSPT-1B, BSN-1A, BSPharm-1A, BSN-1N, BSRadTech-1A, BSRadTech-1B, and BSRadTech-1C, respectively.

Following the morning activities, the culmination was set to continue later in the evening at The Tent, Azuela Cove, with the Gala Night and the awarding of the Most Outstanding Alumni.
