To set the academic direction and foster unity among all year levels, the Radiating Association of Young Strategists (RAYS) and the Radiologic Technology (RadTech) Department of San Pedro College (SPC) held their first general assembly, themed
“Archeya – The Glow of Discovery,” on Sept. 23 at the SPC Gymnasium.

In line with the event, RAYS and the RadTech Department spearheaded the program to introduce the new officers, aiming to foster leadership, teamwork, and collaboration throughout the academic year.

“In Radiologic Technology, you are trained to see what others can’t see, and today, I hope you can see your purpose and your potential. RAYS is more than an organization in San Pedro College—it’s a community where we learn to work together, make mistakes, solve problems, and sometimes survive deadlines, exams, and clinical duties, all at the same time,” former RAYS Moderator Francisco Sedillo said as he opened the program.

Former RAYS President Billy Emnace delivered his report on the recent events and competitions in which the SPC RadTech Department participated, this was followed by the oath-taking ceremony for the 28 newly introduced RAYS officers, led by Ralph Augustus, RAYS Moderator.

Following the opening section, the program proceeded to the first-year parody segment, where the panel of judges was introduced before showcasing the students’ creative video entries.

Following the parody segment, RAYS President Makaila Iglesias led the presentation of the organization’s Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), discussing its preamble, mission, and vision statements.

Additionally, Iglesias centered the discussion on cultivating RadTech camaraderie while setting clear operational goals for the incoming officers.

The event included the presentation of the RadTech Department’s planned calendar of activities and a raffle draw for the students.

Moreover, the event featured an open forum led by RAYS program coordinator Devin Revilla, who addressed students’ questions and provided clarifications regarding academic concerns and facts about the chosen program.

To conclude the assembly, the RadTech band “HATS G” performed a live musical presentation.
