Venturing into a new academic year, the San Pedro College – School of Nursing (SPC-SON) launched its 2026 General Assembly with the theme, โ€œAurevia: Resonating Visions Across Ventures,โ€ on Sept. 5 at the SPC Gymnasium.

Spearheaded by the BSN Fraternity and Sorority (BSN FratSor), the program was divided into morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate its large population, aiming to orient new and old students.

In the morning session, SON students filed in line for attendance, followed by an opening salvo performance by ๐˜’๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ข, Dance Ensemble, and Jaime Mangaoil.

SON Dean, Jocelyn Cataraja, shared her life story in the opening remarks, connecting her reason for choosing SPC to the same reason why students enrolled in the same course.

โ€œIt is the dedication of the clinical instructors, the quality and delivery of the instruction, [and] the fierceness of the imposition of discipline [that] remain steadfast. That is what makes SPC-SON remain on the pedestal of excellence in nursing education,โ€ she said.

After her speech, students were introduced to the nursing council and clinical instructors, engaged in โ€œStat that Song,โ€ a short mini game, and watched a โ€œBalik Tanawโ€ Audio – Visual Presentation (AVP) of last yearโ€™s programs and activities.

Soon, the program featured an introduction of the BSN FratSor officers, and an induction and oath-taking of officer-elects for the academic year 2026-2027.

Students were also oriented and presented with the constitution and by-laws, the Treasurerโ€™s Report, and the planned schedule of activities.

Before wrapping up the morning session, special awards such as โ€œHead Turnersโ€ and โ€œEffortlessly Iconic CIโ€ were given, while the Band Paper hyped the crowd through rock medleys of โ€œAntukinโ€ โ€œWhere is my Husband!โ€ and โ€œRolling in the Deepโ€.

Closing remarks were then delivered by Assistant Moderator of the BSN FratSor, Mary Daphne Calda, concluding the morning segment.

A similar program ensued in the afternoon session, attended by the next batch of SON students, with SON Associate Dean Eta Catacutan delivering the opening remarks.

BSN FratSor Project Head, Royette Carr, officially closed the whole day event through his closing remarks, extending his gratitude towards the participants and committee for their efforts, and inviting the students to aim for the 6-peat Intramurals championship title.

โ€œWe are committed, [and] we are passionate enough to serve the peopleโ€ฆmay we continue to represent the nursing profession with competence, integrity, and compassion,โ€ he stated.

Aside from this yearโ€™s general assembly, numerous SON activities are slated for the rest of the semesters, including the awaited Nursesโ€™ Days scheduled on Nov. 8 to 12.
