Student leaders, organization officers, and moderators took center stage as San Pedro College (SPC) recognized excellence in leadership, service, and student involvement during Gawad Pedro 2026, held at the Grand Menseng Hotel on July 10.

Organized by the Saligan Supreme Student Council (SALIGAN-SSC) and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), this year’s awards night carried the theme “AMANI: Reaping Triumphs, Serving Excellence.”

Opening remarks were delivered by Geraldine Vicente, an SPC Instructor, on behalf of SPC President Sr. Aida Frencillo, sharing words that honor the dedication and excellence of the students.

Messages of Gratitude were also delivered by Student Congress (SC) President John Laurence Satentes, League of Club and Organizations (LCO) Vice Governor Aaliyah Beatriz Umali , and Saligan SSC President Rochelle Andrea Aura Yap.

Recognition was conferred across multiple award categories, including Student Congress, Departmental Service, League of Clubs and Organizations, Institutional, Special, and Saligan SSC Awards, honoring excellence in leadership and organizational involvement.

The Head of the Office of Student Affairs, Atty. Marlou Jade Eliab, capped the formal program with closing remarks, urging the awardees to continue embodying servant leadership beyond the recognition they received.

“Continue to lead with humility, continue to listen before you speak, continue to serve before you seek recognition, and continue to become leaders who inspire others through your actions,” Eliab said.

The program culminated with the conferment of the Ducere Est Servire Award, the night’s highest recognition for leadership and service, to Farizha Queen Ibrahim.

In her acceptance speech, Ibrahim reflected on the self-doubt and challenges encountered throughout her leadership journey, emphasizing that the recognition represented the collective efforts of many deserving student leaders.

“It was always a question whether I deserve the award or not. So, for the youngsters out there, there were a lot of leaders in my batch. I am assuring you, I’m not the only one who actually deserved the award … Standing in front of you guys, it wasn’t easy,” Ibrahim reflected.
