Enhancing their knowledge for the upcoming Comprehensive Examinations, incoming fourth-year School of Counseling and Psychology (SCP) students convened through the online lecture series named โ€œProject Learning and Understanding by Collaborative Assistance to Students (LUCAS)โ€, on June 15 via Google Meet.

To ensure SCP students are well-equipped, the San Pedro College (SPC) Student Mentors Group (SMG) and Association of Psychology and Human Services (AssoPsycHSS) initiated Project LUCAS, providing academic reinforcement through accessible learning resources and peer mentorship.

Before the session officially began, SMG President Jude Vincent Mirabueno, welcomed the student-mentor and participants into the first online meeting for the Project LUCAS series.

โ€œThrough this project, we are honoring the lives of your graduating seniors who have committed to pass their torches to all of you, who will be threading the same path that they have taken,โ€ he said as the following days of the online lecture series will be led by graduating fourth-year students who have volunteered to mentor their underclassmen for the examination.

Succeeding him, AssoPsycHSS President Kheila Vania Servano, expressed her gratitude for the organizing committeeโ€™s efforts and the studentโ€™s participation.

โ€œWe hope to see this project continue to flourish, reach more students, and create an even greater impact in the years to come,โ€ she stated.

Spearheading the first session, student-mentor Christine Anne Bayo led the afternoon program with a comprehensive lecture on Developmental Psychology, exploring the psychology, relationships, and cognitive processes of a personโ€™s development in each stage.

She began by reviewing the studentโ€™s answers from the given pre-test last June 13, and clarifying them between each topic.

This session served as the first installment of Project LUCASโ€™ online lecture series; subsequent days will consist of lectures in other core subjects such as Abnormal Psychology, Industrial or Organizational Psychology, and Psychological Assessment.
