Reflecting on the organization’s accomplishments throughout the term, San Pedro College – College Red Cross Youth (SPC-CRCY) held its annual year-end assembly, themed β€œBeyond the Finish Line,” on May 28 at the Saint Therese (ST) building in rooms 704-707, gathering members to celebrate milestones and prepare for the succeeding term.

Program preliminaries opened the assembly, including the singing of the Philippine Red Cross hymn and opening remarks.

β€œMay this assembly remind us that the finish line is not the end, but the marker of how far we have come and how much more we can achieve as one organization,” CRCY Junior Representative Rozanne Carmelotes said.

CRCY officers were subsequently reintroduced to the members alongside their respective roles, followed by the moderator’s message.

β€œBeing part of the Red Cross Youth is not only about wearing the uniform or rendering deployments; it is about becoming instruments of hope and service to others,” Club Moderator James Remonde told the members.

The program proper proceeded with the President’s Report led by CRCY President Randelle Roi Capa, who recapped the organization’s initiatives and participations throughout the academic year.

Among the activities highlighted were the International Humanitarian Law seminar, Project Respond 2.0 β€” a first aid training for women in San Antonio, Agdao β€” and the annual Emergency First Aid Training (EFAT) for CRCY volunteers, which produced three batches of trainees.

Capa also highlighted Project Droplets, the organization’s blood donation drive conducted in three waves this year, collecting a total of 143 blood bags.

Further emphasizing the club’s achievements, the report also recognized SPC-CRCY’s participation in the Philippine Red Cross – Davao Chapter’s Interschool First Aid Competition (ISFAC) 2025, where the organization maintained its six-peat championship streak.

Outgoing officers also emphasized plans to conduct extensive tryouts and preparations for next year’s ISFAC as senior officers prepare to leave the organization, aiming to equip future representatives for a seventh championship.

Following the President’s Report, the Treasurer presented the organization’s transparency report for the term before Internal Vice President Dave Nathaniel Daguil discussed CRCY’s future goals and plans.

Daguil shared that the organization intends to continue its community engagement activities, annual EFAT for members, Project Droplets, and preparations for upcoming ISFAC competitions.

Lightening the atmosphere, Daguil also asked the members, β€œWhy CRCY?” while sharing his experiences within the organization, prompting members to express their personal reasons for joining and continuing their service.

Member Joshua Holazo shared that he was encouraged by a senior to join CRCY because of his prior experience in first aid, eventually honing his skills further through trainings and competitions, including the recent ISFAC where their team won in the Basic Life Support category.

Aside from reflecting on organizational milestones, the assembly also recognized members behind these achievements through the awarding of certificates to outstanding officers, committee members, and medics, where member Hiei Buensalido received the Medic of the Year award.

Closing the program, Capa delivered his final message after four years of service in the organization and two years as president, expressing gratitude to the officers and members who worked alongside him throughout his term.

β€œEvery closed chapter makes room for another story to be written,” he shared.

SPC-CRCY aims to continue its successful initiatives and maintain its championship streak in the years ahead.
