Widening their career prospects and wrapping up months of preparation, graduating students participated in the Job Fair 2026, held by the San Pedro College (SPC) Guidance, Counseling and Testing Center (GCTC), in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on May 28 at the SPC Gymnasium.

Guided by the theme, “Succeed. Embrace. Evolve: Building Professional Futures in SPCโ€™s 70 Years of Excellence and Loving Service,โ€ the venue was filled with posters from partner companies seeking potential applicants, while students were encouraged to peruse and list any companies or agencies that caught their interest.

With 24 industry partners, ranging from allied health partners such as Brokenshire, Mercury Drug, Healthy Options and Optum, to non-allied health companies like Citi Hardware, BDO, Outsource USA, Sta. Lucia Davao, and many others โ€” graduating students listed their chosen job options, filled out their applications, and presented them to the PESO.

Potential employers engaged them in job interviews, as government one-stop-shops and review centers offered various on-site services to support job applications, hiring processes, and preparations for licensure examinations.

From the companies displayed among the job fairโ€™s shopping area to the certificates distributed after each student finished their applications, every component of the event marked a step forward toward employment opportunities, facilitated by the organizers.

Candice Lain Urbano, Head of the Alumni Affairs Office and among the organizersโ€™ committee, shared that the eventโ€™s main goal was assisting students to a smoother transition upon graduating or giving them a chance to experience the process of job applications even though some would choose to focus more on upcoming licensure examinations.

โ€œWe were able to help bridge our students and the employers by giving them the opportunities that they really needโ€ฆunder the allied health of courseโ€ฆthey have opportunities which [are] equally even to our non-allied health courses,โ€ she added when asked about how they connected students to their potential employers.

Students expressed the same sentiments, including graduating nursing student Angelika Ducusin, who noted that the program helped her navigate post-graduation requirements like government ID processing and introduced her to unique job opportunities such as virtual nursing.

โ€œMas ok siya for me kase sa bahay lang, tapos yung nurse-patient ratio kase hindi masyado heavy unlike sa hospital. Hindi siya heavy workload for me unlike mag work na talaga sa hospital,โ€ Ducusin stated.
