𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬’ 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲

Speech Society formally welcomed new members on Jan. 18 during its first general assembly, “Rising Voices: Assembling Our League,” marking official formation of the organization’s membership for the academic year.

Opening the program, Organization Moderator Rochelle Priete delivered her welcoming remarks which emphasized the importance of experience in honing communication skills while expressing commitment to working with members as a first-year adviser.

Following the opening message, officers were introduced to present a leadership team that will guide organization’s activities throughout the year.

To ensure clarity of operations, their constitution and by-laws (CBL) were presented, followed by president’s and treasurer’s reports to promote transparency and accountability within the organization.

Transitioning into engagement activities, ice breakers such as “dugtungan” and “rhythm” games were conducted to demonstrate and apply essential speech and communication skills among members.

Further orientation discussed hosting and debate programs, along with rules, processes, and responsibilities that will govern organizational functions.

Before the program’s conclusion, acceptance rites were held with distribution of welcome kits to officially recognize new members of the Speech Society.

Closing the event, Project Head Dona Ruth delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to participants and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to developing confident and responsible speakers.
