With an estimated number of 500 attendees, teachers, staff, and working committee of San Pedro College (SPC) gathered together in celebration for the World Teachersβ Day (WTD) 2025 at the school gymnasium with the theme βTeach-tastic 90s: Retro Style, Endless Wisdom,β on Friday, Oct. 3.
Six departments partook in the event: School of Business Management, Education, and Arts and Sciences (SBMEAS), School of Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health (SMLSPH), School of Nursing (SON), School of Counseling and Psychology (SCP), School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), and Senior High School (SHS).
In her opening remarks, Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) Training Officer Julienne Inguillo expressed due respect for the efforts exerted by instructors who guide every student.
βThank you for the late nights preparing lessons, the patience in answering endless questions, and the quiet encouragement we feel when a student is ready to give up,β Inguillo stated.
Julie Tiu, SMLSPH faculty member, led a zumba energizer that was joined by all schools as participants stood and moved with the dance routine.
In continuation, the prepared Vlog/TikTok videos from SBMEAS, followed by SMLSPH, and SON were shown on screen; each showcased its departments, what they focus on, and what they offer.
SPC Kabilin dancers performed an intermission number at the center, incorporating hip-hop and street-style moves.
Meanwhile, games such as Decode the Jeje Message, Pinoy Henyo, and the pageant segment brought out competitiveness.
Arjay Arcena and Lalaine Guanzon from the SBMEAS won the titles Mr. and Ms. Teach-tastic 90s.
Winners of the minor and major raffle draws were announced, with prizes including an air fryer, a vacuum cleaner, and a printer for the recipients.
After the raffle draw, lunch was served to everyone, while the Auro Band and SHS faculty band, Lovedsinner played live songs in the background.
Spearheaded by the Student Congress (SC) and the Saligan Supreme Student Council (SSSC), a video presentation featuring greetings from the students was shown on screen, accompanied by words of appreciation for a day dedicated to teachers.
In lieu of the absence of Vice President of Academics Ana Julia Enero, the program was officially concluded with closing remarks by Genaro Alderite Jr., Dean of SBMEAS.
“The lessons of generosity, resilience, kindness, and integrity that you, our SPC teachers, plant in our students’ hearts become their compass by which they will find their way as they leave this institution,” Alderite expressed.
