SPC administrators, employees, students and alumni gathered for “Running Pilgrims of Hope: SPC Fun Run for a Cause” at the SPC Gymnasium, Sept. 28, as the institution commemorated its 69th founding anniversary.

Julie Tiu energized the participants with a Zumba session and warm-up exercises before the run officially began at the SPC main gate.

Following the warm-up, the 5-kilometer Fun Run commenced at SPC Gate 2, where runners passed through Sta. Ana Street, proceeded along Leon Garcia Sr. Street, and continued toward Magsaysay Avenue and Uyanguren Street.

The route looped back, guiding participants through designated checkpoints and water stations before returning to the finish line at SPC Gate 2.

Victors were recognized in several categories, including Individual, Couple (married, unmarried, or a duo of friends), Family (3-5 members with at least one parent and child), Barkada (5-15 members), Employees, and Classmates Category (20-25 persons).

Dos Dominic Jayme & Revin Abreu won first place in the Couple Category, while Edwin Halanes, Gabriel Cedeño, and Ariel Pastera secured the top spot for the Family Category.

Moreover, Fhelizelmie Reambonanza, Michael Vincent Nacilla, Alexis Anora, Dave Jhonn Catam-isan, and Adrian Labarag got first place for the Employees Category.

For the Barkada Category, Cedrick Drew Amorado, Christian Direll Suico, Sam Najeem Molao, Ian Louise Mangao, Demian Rashad Ybias, and Tim Andrai Tucas were to finish.

In addition, BSPT-3B students took the lead in the Classmates Category.

Finally, Renz Adam Mendaros was recognized as the individual category first finisher.

Concluding the event, Belindo Aguilar extended his gratitude to the participants and reminded the deeper purpose of the activity.

“This fun run for a cause proves that even in dark times, light emerges. That love will prevail over greed, and that unity no matter how simple we act will overcome division,” he said. “By joining this cause, we declare that there is always hope, because there’s always people willing to serve and love,” he added.

Proceeds from the Fun Run will benefit the Sister Pauline Guilmette Foundation, Inc. scholars, a non-government organization committed to supporting those in need, particularly in education and healing ministries.
