San Pedro College proudly held its meaningful international community service initiative with our long-time partner, Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand, last August 22, 2025, at the adopted community and health centers of SPC, Green Village, Brgy. San Antonio Agdao, Davao City, Brgy. Gov. Vicente Duterte Health Center, and SPC Health Center.
As part of the one-week visit of MFLU, the delegates, Prof. Nattaya Phadaennok and Asst. Prof. Dr. Jiranee Panyapin had the opportunity to visit SPC’s adopted community, Green Village, Brgy. San Antonio Agdao, Davao City. They are accompanied by the Internationalization and Linkages Global Mobility Program Coordinator, Romelle P. Hilamon, LPT, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Coordinator Mr. Renn John T. Gerona, and External Linkages Coordinator, Mrs. Vanessa B. Sacurom, LPT, School of Nursing (SON) Clinical Instructors Dr. Ferdinand Catungal, RN, MAN, Mrs. Claudette Advincula, RN, MN, and Ms. Jo Ann B. Dela Cerna, RN, MN, and Community Engagement and Extension Services (CEES) Staff Ms. Wendy R. Orlanas, RSW.
During their immersion, the delegates gained valuable practical experience by visiting multiple health facilities. They were given direct exposure to the immunization program at the Agdao Health Center and was able to observe the vaccination area and Physical Therapy rooms at the SPC Health Center. Additionally, they were able to witness actual therapy sessions, providing them with a comprehensive look at various aspects of public health care.
Through this engagement, the school fulfilled its goal of connecting and immersing our international partners within the campus and in SPC’s adopted community and health centers. This initiative was designed to give delegates a deeper understanding of Davao City’s diverse culture and communities, with a particular focus on the local healthcare system. The delegates were also able to share insights on the Community Nursing and Midwifery Systems in Thailand. These efforts align perfectly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 Good Health and Well-Being and (SDG) 17 Partnerships For The Goals.
Kudos, SPC! Hereโs to many more successful partnerships in the future!
