𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐔𝐩 ‘𝟐𝟓

Incoming first-year students of San Pedro College (SPC) officially commenced their college journey as the five-day freshman orientation program, Start Up 2025, concluded on Aug. 9 with its culmination program, equipping the students with essential knowledge, skills, and connections to navigate the year ahead.

Various departments took part in the said culmination program, with the School of Counselling and Psychology (SCP), School of Nursing (SON), School of Business Management, Education, Arts & Sciences (SBMEAS), and Health Care Services-NCII (HCS-NCII) attending the morning leg, and the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) and School of Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health (SMLSPH) taking part in the afternoon session.

In her opening remarks, Saligan President Rochelle Andrea Aura Yap welcomed the freshmen into a world “filled with discoveries, opportunities, and growth.”

“Every challenge you face here is a chance to persevere and to transform yourself into [something] stronger than [what you once were],” she said.

Yap also urged the students to join activities, organizations, and make connections with different people, further encouraging them to keep an open mind and have an eager spirit to explore.

Afterwards, a series of orientations by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) briefed the freshmen on several programs and opportunities within the campus, led by College Sports Coordinator Charles Suarez and Culture and Arts Coordinator Roy Villanueva.

Following this, recognized institutional, departmental, and non-departmental clubs and organizations were showcased through a parade, immediately followed by respective talks by the Lideratong may Adbokasiya sa Hinaharap at Transpormasyon (LAHAT) and Liberal na Alyansa ng Kabataang may Adhikain sa Serbisyo (LAKAS).

Before the celebration formally came to a close, students were indulged in different amusements around the campus as they tried their hand at winning the minor and major raffle draws and special segments.

Across the five-day duration of Start Up 2025, booths by different clubs and organizations stood at the school’s open grounds, delivering fun activities to help new SPCians ease into their college transition.
