In recognition of leadership and service, San Pedro College (SPC) commended student leaders, moderators, and organizations through its annual Gawad Pedro ceremony, titled Adamaris, held July 14 at the Apo View Hotel.

SPC President Sr. Aida Frencillo opened the event by reinforcing that leadership must be lived out through service with love.

“Our student leaders and moderators being honored today are navigators — great, resilient, and forward-looking — who lead with integrity, determination, and heart,” she said during her opening remarks.

Serving as the highlight of the night, organizers recognized outstanding officers, nominees, and organizations across various categories, with 30 individuals and groups honored as awardees.

Messages of gratitude were also delivered by the League of Clubs and Organizations (LCO) and the Saligan Supreme Student Council (SSC).

LCO Governor Haniffiyya Jumdail reflected on the journey, acknowledging the challenges faced and the meaningful connections built along the way.

“I felt very lost, and honestly, I know many of us felt the same. We were just trying to figure things out one step, one meeting, and one decision at a time… and luckily I was never truly alone,” Jumdail stated.

Saligan SSC External Vice President Francine Faye Dumago shared that the year brought unexpected challenges, yet ended on a positive note.

“This year was extra tough that we used not to know how we are going to rise above rough borders, yet here we are celebrating another year of success,” Dumago expressed.

The ceremony concluded with remarks from Marlou Jade Eliab, head of the Office of Student Affairs, who closed the evening with gratitude and pride for a year defined by resilient leadership and purposeful service.
