To equip student leaders with the essential knowledge and skills for effective leadership, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of San Pedro College (SPC) held a Student Activity Formation Conference for College Students on May 9, 2025, at the Philomene Labrecque (PL) 203 room.

The one-day conference gathered college student leaders to discuss relevant points of responsible leadership, with the goal of fostering meaningful student involvement and aligning student-led activities with the school’s core values.

Speaker Fr. Marbendear Morallas led the formation session, where he emphasized the vitality of integrating the principles of Christian leadership into being an effective figure.

These principles highlight servanthood, integrity, vision, wisdom, accountability, empowerment, love, and perseverance.

“As Christians, leadership is stressing our love and service to others. To serve is to love, to serve is to show our love to God, and it is to serve our people,” Morallas shared in his concluding remarks of the talk.

The speaker also said that leadership comes naturally as a form of good influence, growth, and quality behavior.

Meanwhile, OSA head Jade Eliab also expressed his appreciation towards the student leaders who took their time to attend the said formation session and for being of service to the SPC Community.

“It was not required, it was not given as a condition to be a [committed student leader] in the college, but it was your volition, your own voluntary act to serve the SPC community and fellow students,” shared Eliab.

He also said that the constant engagement of student leaders in such activities is a clear manifestation that student leadership in the institution is alive and well.

Around 37 students across different organizations and departments attended the conference, almost half of the senior high school attendees in the morning session, as cited by the OSA head.
