Displaying multidisciplinary distinction, San Pedro College (SPC) secured wins and placements in five distinct competitions at Siklab 2026, the official Academic, Culture, and Arts Festival of the Davao Colleges and Universities Network (DACUN), held at Philippine Womenโ€™s College of Davao (PWCD) on Feb. 15.

Dominating the musical scene, SPC Choraleโ€™s Ralph Lexter Iroy, Mikaela Krizha Tan, Matt Christian Gayo, and Carriz Valmonte emerged as the champions for Song Writing & Music Creation with their song entitled โ€œSilakbo.โ€

Standing as the sole entry among the twelve participating institutions, the piece earned an immediate victory and was designated as Siklabโ€™s official theme song.

In the academe, School of Nursing (SON) students Jude Vincent Mirabueno, Breanna Colleen Pangilinan, and Ellen Mae Bayalas outsmarted the competition and claimed triumph in the Quiz Bowl event.

Adding to the schoolโ€™s excellence in the performing arts, the SPC Chorale also clinched the 1st runner-up spot in the Chorale competition, marking their successful debut under their new conductor, Floyd Valdez.

Valdez, a University of Mindanao (UM) Chorale alumnus and former Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Chorale conductor, led the team to a podium finish in their first competition together.

Hanz Christian Turtogo from the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) also secured 1st runner-up in Extemporaneous Speaking, tackling climate resilience amidst local climate-related hazards.

Showcasing quick thinking and logical prowess, Speech Societyโ€™s Niรฑo Robert Maravillosa, Ernest Michael Polinar, and Juliana Maxine Llerin took home 2nd runner-up in Debate.

Highlighting a fusion of traditional and modern spirit, SPC Kultura and Kaalam Dance Company (KDC) also presented vibrant and expressive choreography in the Mega Crew competition.

As the inaugural year for Siklab, SPCโ€™s performance sets a high standard for future installments of the event as one of the pillars of Davaoโ€™s intercollegiate excellence.
