Offering prayers of thanksgiving in preparation to conclude their academic journey, the graduating students of San Pedro College (SPC) accompanied by their parents, faculty, and staff, gathered at the San Pedro Cathedral for their Baccalaureate Mass on June 23.

Auxiliary Bishop of Davao the Most Rev. George Rimando presided over the Eucharistic celebration and called on graduating students to uphold compassion, respect and integrity as they enter a new stage of life.

In his homily, Rimando outlined three key reflections, including a reminder to live by the Golden Rule: “Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you.”

Selected students from various college departments participated in the offertory procession, while members of Dominican Network (DomNet) Youth Group served as collectors during Mass.

SPC President Aida Frencillo and Vice President for Academics Ana Julia Enero carried bread and wine for consecration, symbolizing thanksgiving for blessings received throughout the graduates’ academic journey.

A thanksgiving prayer was delivered by Yzabelle Cuasito, student representative from the School of Counseling and Psychology, on behalf of the graduating class.

Closing the program, Ana Theresa Alovera of the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences delivered words of gratitude and acknowledged individuals who contributed to the celebration’s success.

Graduates will formally conclude their academic journey during SPC’s 67th Commencement Exercises on June 25 at the SMX Convention Center Davao.
