𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐒𝐏𝐂 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Career readiness took center stage as Guidance and Counseling and Testing Center (GCTC) held Career Talk 2026 for graduating students on April 30 at the San Pedro College (SPC) gymnasium and via Zoom.

Morning session focused on institutional orientations, including discussions from the Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), covering membership, benefits and legal responsibilities.

Afternoon session shifted to career readiness talk by Leonides Jimmy Jesuro, III focusing on workplace expectations, attitude and adaptability.

“… Because of the changes, you have to have adaptability. To learn and learn with their cycle,“ Jesuro said.

Jeffrey Tan Jr. followed with a discussion on preparation, professionalism, strategies for standing out among job applicants and identifying qualities employers look for.

“Your skills can get you to the door… so importante gihapon ang skills ninyo (so your skills are still important) but they’re not the only thing that’s being evaluated by the recruiters,” Tan said.

Open forum ensued, allowing students to raise questions regarding hiring processes and workplace expectations.

Closing remarks were delivered by Demie Laine Baluis, Guidance Facilitator, who gave the students words of encouragement as they transition from academic life to professional careers.

“The future may be uncertain but it is also full of potential waiting to be explored. They are achieved by choices, challenges, and continuous learning.”
