To recognize and give importance to the feats and dedication of its members and officers while intensifying camaraderie, the Speech Society awarded top-performing debaters and hosts in its 2nd General Assembly with the theme “Regalia: Echoes of Purpose, The Victors of Voice” at SPC ST 703, May 29.

“We are here to realign ourselves with our shared purpose: to give voice to ideas, to sharpen our skills, and to lead with confidence through communication,” Putri Usman, Speech Society’s Associate Treasurer, noted in her opening remarks.

Usman also added that the assembly was an opportunity to look back at what they had accomplished together, especially since the Speech Society has continued to grow not only in numbers but also in impact. Through their united efforts, they have reached significant milestones worth celebrating.

Meanwhile, Jessica Anne Dela Paz, Speech Society’s Associate PIO, highlighted in her talk that the event was named “Regalia: Echoes of Purpose, The Victors of Voice” because they were dressed not in robes but in purpose; they were crowned not with gold, but with the courage to speak.

“Regalia reminds us that every voice has power. That eloquence, when rooted in purpose, is more than just impressive. It is transformative, it is a legacy,” Dela Paz stated.

Toward the end of the program, SpeechSoc Officers delivered the President’s Report, Treasurer’s Report, and CEES Report and honored its members with debate, hosting, and outstanding committee awards.

Among the coveted awards were host and debater of the year, which Sergio Josh Benedict Jayson and Raven Ashley Nicole Tupino claimed, respectively.

According to Trisha Naraga, the Speech Society’s Moderator, she appreciated everyone who attended despite the schedule.

As the semester has finally ended, the Speech Society officially concluded its term for Academic Year ‘24-’25.

“I am grateful for all your efforts, especially to the officers, and thank you for choosing me as your moderator,” Naraga said in her farewell message. This year marks her last term as the organization’s moderator.
