Concluding its five-day International Student Exchange Program, San Pedro College (SPC) formally exchanged farewells with Thailand’s Silpakorn University (SU) in the event’s closing ceremony at the St. Therese (ST) auditorium on Dec. 1.

June Prieto, director of the Internationalization and Linkages Office, began the send-off with opening remarks encouraging students to carry forward the insights and lessons formed throughout the exchange.

“Don’t let these connections end here. Take this powerful perspective, this collaboration, and become the global citizens of [the] mission, vision, and goals that we are all called to do,” Prieto emphasized.

Students then showcased the unique traditions of their respective countries through cultural performances, with the JPPhA Chi-Pharmakon officers and SU student delegates performing a mix of traditional and contemporary dances.

In recognition of their participation, SPC presented certificates and tokens to the SU delegates and faculty.

Panoopat Poompruek, SU’s Associate Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations, then delivered his own message expressing profound gratitude to SPC and hoped for a sustained partnership between the two institutions.

After a tribute video that reflected on the five-day experience, Fatima May Tesoro, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, concluded the program by highlighting the value of cultural exchange and the growing linkage between the two institutions.

“This is never the last, but the first of [many more] engagements [that] support the meaningful work we do across borders,” Tesoro expressed.

This successful student exchange marked the fifth year of partnership between SPC and SU, building on earlier online collaborations and previous international summer programs where SPC delegates visited Silpakorn University and engaged in cultural exposure and academic exchanges.
