𝐒𝐏𝐂-𝐋𝐑𝐂 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟗𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

San Pedro College Learning Resource Center (SPC-LRC) conducted its 91st National Book Week celebration from Nov. 17–21 at the third floor of the St. Therese (ST) Building, under the theme “Tulay ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng Pag-asa,” featuring daily activities that promote literacy, ethical research, and student engagement.

The Book Fair opening and ribbon-cutting marked the opening ceremony on Nov. 17, followed by the launching of activities such as Emoji Quiz: Guess the Book Title, Grab-A-Book, and Raffle Draws, which ran throughout the week, with daily winners announced on the center’s official Facebook page.

In partnership with the SPC Gender and Development Office, SPC-LRC also conducted the Library Book Hunt on Nov. 18, where participants searched for specified book titles using clues, while entries from the Book Face Challenge were posted on the center’s official Facebook page.

Aimed at strengthening academic and research skills, SPC-LRC held a two-part student lecture series on Nov. 19 through Zoom.

Sessions focused on ethical research for sustainable development and training on the Knimbus digital library platform, with speakers Zarine Cabugsa, executive chair of the SPC Research Coordination Center, and Wilson Catingub Jr., managing director of Knimbus – Southeast Asia.

In the afternoon, CineLit: Books on the Big Screen was held in the institution’s Audio-Visual Room (AVR), featuring free movie showings open to all SPCians.

Culminating the National Book Week on Nov. 21, SPC-LRC awarded winners from the week’s activities and hosted a fellowship meal for attendees, collaborators, and partners.
