Marking the culmination of years filled with dedication and growth, San Pedro College (SPC) held its 66th College Department Commencement Exercises for Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 on June 25 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.

Rooted in quality education and academic excellence, SPC produced 1,797 college graduates, including 166 who received Latin honors โ€” five summa cum laude, 59 magna cum laude, and 102 cum laude; 118 graduates were named Honorable Mention.

Apart from academic distinctions, selected graduates were recognized for clinical and practicum excellence, outstanding performance in awards given by respective professional organizations, achievements in non-academic pursuits, and the President’s Award.

Of the 1,797 college graduates, 93 were from the School of Business Management, Education, Arts, and Services (SBMEAS); 191 from the School of Counseling and Psychology (SCP); 362 from the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS); 405 from the School of Medical Laboratory Science (SMLS); and 746 from the School of Nursing (SON).

Leading them were the SPC Class of 2025 valedictorian Dexter Masongsong Jr. and salutatorian Joshua Andrew Otagan, who received their medallions as top academic honorees, both having graduated summa cum laude from the SMLS.

โ€œIf I could give even just a portion of this moment to those who never got theirs, I would. Because what good is [an] honor if it can’t be shared?โ€ Masongsong said in his address.

Masongsong honored his awards to the unseen triumphs of his fellow graduates who were working students, breadwinners, irregular learners, and those who were hindered by circumstances to pursue their dreams.

โ€œThe world doesn’t just need more brilliance – it needs more compassion because long after people will forget what you’ve achieved, they will remember how you made them feel,โ€ he added.

Vice President for Academics Ana Julia Enero presented the candidates for graduation while SPC President Sr. Aida Frencillo conferred the degrees.

SPC also held its 27th Graduate School Commencement Exercises, awarding diplomas to 88 individuals.
