CONGRATULATIONS, SPC-REC!

We are pleased to announce that San Pedro College Research Ethics Committee (SPC-REC) is already a Level 2 accredited Ethics Committee by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB). With Level 2 accreditation, SPC-REC can review and approve research protocols involving human participants on a more comprehensive review capacity, except for clinical trials requiring FDA registration of new drugs.

To date, the SPC-REC’s scope of authority to review includes all research involving human subjects proposed by any of its constituents, such as students of all levels (senior high school, undergraduate, and graduate), and SPC employees, and studies proposed by lead researchers who are not affiliated with San Pedro College but will involve any San Pedro College constituents as target participants.
