𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚

San Pedro College (SPC), through the Internationalization and Linkages Office (InterLink), hosted a cultural immersion activity for Dr. Leong Sui Sien, an Associate Professor and International Lecturer from the University of Putra Malaysia, on August 14, 2025.

As part of her cultural immersion, Dr. Leong visited Magsaysay Park and other tourist spots in the city, where she explored the diverse cultures and tribes of Davao. The experience gave her a closer look at the city’s rich heritage and traditions, allowing her to witness firsthand the vibrant identities of the local communities.

This activity was graced by the presence of the InterLink Office Director, Dr. June L. Prieto, along with the team: Ms. Romelle P. Hilamon, LPT (Global Mobility Program Coordinator), Mrs. Vanessa B. Sacurom, LPT (External Linkages Coordinator), and Mr. Renn John T. Gerona, LPT (COIL Coordinator).

This cultural immersion plays a vital role in strengthening international partnerships, as it fosters a deeper appreciation and understanding of the local community’s heritage and traditions. By engaging directly with Davao’s diverse cultural landscape, visiting scholars like Dr. Leong gain meaningful insights that enhance cross-cultural collaboration and mutual respect between institutions.
