Cultivating unity among student leaders across Davao City, 21 delegates from San Pedro College (SPC) participated in the 10th Davao Association of Colleges and Universities Network (DACUN) Leadership Summit at Philippine Women’s College of Davao, RSM Events Center last April 22 and 23.

In collaboration with New Breakthrough Consultancy, the event anchored on the theme, “A Decade of Transformational Leadership: Igniting Purpose, Evolving Leaders, Inspiring Change.”

Alexander Solano, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Unifrutti Philippines commenced the first day as he explored the workplace generation gap and the differences between Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z in terms of their workplace professionalism.

Following Solano was Sisoy Kintanar’s discussion about mindset and the Thoughts, Emotions, Actions (TEA) principle, which was reinforced on the second day by Kintanar’s talk about the Five Levels of Leadership by John Maxwell.

“True leadership isn’t about choosing sides. It’s about finding the common ground where all voices can be heard and valued,” stated Kinatar.

Moreover, he also discussed the importance of mental well-being for student leaders.

This event also showcased the collaboration between student leaders in a workshop session after every discussion.

Monise Marie Santiago, representing the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) and Lideratong May Adbokasiya sa Hinaharap at Transpormasyon (LAHAT), shared how her insight would improve leadership within the institution.

“What I want to emphasize to SPCians is that one can be self-driven to lead by heart, to lead with respect, and above all, to lead in a God-centered approach,”” she stated.

Santiago pressed further to live out the values of the school which is to serve with love.

This summit was graced by 11 other institutions across Davao, including Assumption College of Davao, Ateneo de Davao University, Brokenshire College, Davao Doctors College, Philippine Women’s College of Davao, General Baptist Bible College, Holy Cross of Davao College, Rizal Memorial Colleges Inc., University of Mindanao, University of the Philippines Mindanao, and Joji Ilagan International School.
