We are pleased to announce the successful culmination of the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course entitled “𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑼𝑺𝑨.” A collaboration between San Pedro College, Philippines, and Oakland Community College, Michigan, USA.

Throughout the course, they discussed the importance of global citizenship as a Filipino and as an American, highlighting the cultural, legal, and social implications of each country, created a PODCAST presentation on citizenship. The participants compared what it means to be a citizen, their rights and responsibilities, and being a global citizen in the perspective of the two countries. They also reflected on what they learned from the project, emphasizing how these insights contribute to a broader understanding of citizenship and identity in a global context.

As we move forward, we aim to build upon this foundation of collaboration and continue exploring avenues for international cooperation and academic exchange. Our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, faculty, and staff of San Pedro College and Oakland Community College who made this initiative a success!
