San Pedro College Welcomes COIL Initiative: “Cultural Influences on Health and Physical Assessment Practices”

As San Pedro College embraces the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program, the Internationalization and Linkages Office is thrilled to introduce the COIL initiative “Cultural Influences on Health and Physical Assessment Practices.”
In this 4-week collaboration between Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in Indiana and San Pedro College, the focus will be on addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The course aims to equip students for teaching by emphasizing evidence-based learning, cross-cultural sensitivity, communication skills, technology proficiency, and practical teaching tools for clinical education. This ensures a robust connection between theory and practice.

Representing Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is Dr. Crystal White, Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Dr. Sarah Bernadette Baleña, Dean of the School of Nursing, will represent San Pedro College. Dr. June L. Prieto, Assistant Director of the InterLink Office and Associate Professor in the School of Business, Management, Education, Arts, and Sciences, will play a pivotal role as the facilitator and coordinator, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between the two institutions.

Here’s to more collaborations!
