Admission and Retention Policies

A. Admission Criteria for BS Psychology
1) Policies for new students contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Senior High School Average Grade of at least 83%.
3) Has at least average IQ.
4) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.
B. Admission Criteria for Shifters
1) Policies for shifters contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Shifters are accepted up to third year level only.
3) Has at least average IQ.
4) Must be physically fit.
5) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.
6) The decision to admit shifters is at the discretion of the Program Coordinator or the Dean.
C. Admission Criteria for Transferees
1) Policies for transferees contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Transferees are accepted up to third year level only.
3) Has at least average IQ.
4) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.
5) The decision to admit transferees is at the discretion of the Program Coordinator or the Dean.
D. Admission Criteria for Returnees
1) Policies for returnees contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.
3) The decision to admit returnees is at the discretion of the Program Coordinator or the Dean.
E. Retention / Promotion Policies
1) A student is promoted to the succeeding year level if the following requirements are met:

I. Must have passed at least 85% of the subjects taken in the preceding two semesters.

2) A student who will fail any board subject shall be given last probationary status.
3) A student who had failure(s) in the previous semester shall be placed under academic probation and will be given reduced subject load for the succeeding semesters.
4) Any failed subject will be re-enrolled once.
5) A student is dropped from the roll of the program, if:

I. The student fails in more than 30% of his /her total unit load.

II. The student fails in a repeated subject.

6) A student who will be diagnosed with psychological – related problems shall be advised to stop and will be re – admitted only upon clearance with psychiatrist or psychologist. 
F. Practicum / Internship Training Program
1) A student who failed in the comprehensive examination twice cannot join the internship.
2) A student who fails to comply all the subjects from first year until third year as stipulated in the curriculum cannot join the internship.
3) Only officially enrolled students are allowed to join the pinning ceremony.
4) The general and specific policies for practicum / internship are stipulated in the Practicum / Internship Handbook.
G. Graduation Requirements
1) In order to qualify for graduation, a student must comply the following:

I. Must have passed and completed the academic requirements for BS Psychology Program.

II. Must have a passing grade across practicum / internship rotations.

III. Must have complied all requirements for practicum.

2) Graduating students who have accumulated fifteen (15) or more extension days for whatever reasons shall be excluded from the Graduation Rites.

A. Admission Criteria for Bachelor in Human Services
1) Policies for new students contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Senior High School Average Grade of at least 80%.
3) Has at least average IQ.
4) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.

B. Admission Criteria for Shifters
1) Policies for shifters contained in the general provisions are applied.
2) Shifters are accepted up to third year level only.
3) Has at least average IQ.
4) Must be deemed psychologically and emotionally stable.
