God is there to our rescue!

As I have always been reflecting, God is so faith faithful. He began a good work in me. My column for this week is hoped to inspire all the members of San Pedro College Community because I shall be sharing with you the benefits that we get and experience when we bring ourselves closer to God.

Of course, this column would not have been organized had I not started with a quiet time with God in a form of meditation. Let me share with you this turning point in my life. I admit I was too ideal before as an academician and as an achiever so wrapped with superficiality. There was one time I told one of my students that he sounds Greek to me. It was merely due to his inability to communicate in the English language. I thought that life is all about that, all about competitions, all about assertions. So, I came to a point that I had been tired of pushing something to which I think would contribute not only for the enhancement of relationship but also for the empowerment in building a strong nation. I am never a super hero nor a powerful God who can take control of everything.

God is so loving to all humanity . I have a lot of experiences which are very combative. There were instances that I had thought I would never endure. Let me share with you the struggles that I have endured because God came to my rescue: The death of my father when I was three months old, my spent years not knowing my real mother because she had to leave me to earn a living, my independence in my schooling, me being an academic scholar and worker, the death of my mother, the death of my step father and the considered climactic part, my near death experiences as I was hospitalized. In there, I was paralyzed. I had brain abscess. My lungs and heart had waters, plus the torture of psycho – social events and influences . I hope there is a bit of my readers who will be blessed by the aforementioned enumerated events in my life. I though it was impossible to shift paradigm.

Fear can be a factor hindering everyone to change . Some people have difficulty to change since they do not like to have even a little discomfort in their lives. Without discomfort, there will be no learning. Learning starts when one starts feeling uncomfortable. When there is something new that is discovered, learning then is evident. Changes are possible. Changes can happen if you let them happen.
